Lake Keowee

If you’re looking for a lake that offers amazing varieties of fish and clear water, look no further than Lake Keowee. This lake holds primarily crappie, largemouth bass, and catfish. Keep in mind, many years ago some anglers made an unauthorized introduction of spotted bass which distressed the ecological balance of the lake. In turn, the largemouth and crappie fishery have declined. Resulting in what is now 9 out of 10 bass caught in Lake Keowee are spotted bass. There are some nice largemouth bass and crappie still caught, but that population of spotted bass is something to note before you plan your trip.
